How it Complements Somatic Psychotherapy:
A Gateway: For those who do not need, or are not ready for one-on-one sessions, this is an effective entry point to begin building somatic awareness in a group setting.
A Parallel Path: Many clients do both. They use their yoga practice to build general regulation capacity, which then supports them in doing the deeper, more specific processing work in our somatic sessions.
Integration: The tools learned on the mat—how to breathe through discomfort, how to notice a sensation without reacting—are directly applicable to daily life and the therapeutic process.
